I-40 over Sooner Road

Client: Triad Design Group

Owner: Oklahoma Department of Transportation

Located in Del City, Oklahoma, the existing twin I-40 bridges over Sooner Road were replaced with dual three (3) span continuous steel plate girder bridges (3-115’ spans each) that were completed through four (4) phases of construction. The new bridges accommodate eight (8) lanes of traffic, 12’ inside and outside shoulders and provide for future Texas turn-arounds underneath with vertical abutments. This project is part of the I-40 renovation through the Mid-Del region, dubbed the “Freedom Corridor”, that includes structural aesthetics to honor and celebrate our Troops and Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma. These bridges were built by Manhattan Road & Bridge at a cost of $11.7 Million.
